Sensei Ganesh sought success both academically and athletically. He commenced his karate career in Colombo aged 22 under the guidance of Sensei Bonnie Roberts. Following an ethos of hard work and discipline, Sensei Ganesh soon gained recognition amongst his peers and community at large after consecutive successes in renowned competitions.

Sensei Ganesh moved to the UK in 1990 with his family where he quickly established a dojo with a few students largely consisting of his four children. Gradually expanding to three dojos, Sensei Ganesh soon found himself joining the Amateur Shotokan Karate Association, where under the teachings of Sensei Balwant Singh Sahans and Sensei Harvinder Sagoo, he would come to nurture the more philosophical teachings of karate. This ultimately has helped Sensei Ganesh to grow not only his understanding of the art but in turn develop his students into more complete martial artists.
